BIG LOVE FOR ROMP POSSE 2010

when i signed up for MELBOURNE ROMP late last year, i most definitely did not know that it was going to be one of the most amazing experiences to come! in fact, i had no idea what melbourne romp even was, i had a vague idea but i didn't imagine it to involve a VIP pass, awesome music nor meeting celebs. about 2 weeks ago, i got an email offering me a position as talent liaison for this year's romp. to be honest, liaison wasn't really in my vocabulary until then. i thought it was the usual volunteer job blah blah blah, little did i know, i misread the fine print that specified that this was a "special" position.

so there i was today waking up at 7am to make my way to alexandria garden where i met louise, the person who makes romp happen! i grabbed a bright orange romp posse shirt and headed over to backstage where i met joel, my manager for the day where he showed me the ropes to what i had to do for the next 10 hrs! he was super super nice and really easy going. i remember asking him "sooo, who else is talent liaison today?" coz i kinda didn't wanna be a loner with no friends, and he replied with" nobody, just you. you are the talent liaison." oh em gee. so basically my job today was to look after the bands that were playing, buy food, buy drinks, make sure everyone is good in the greenroom, run errands for the access all area staff, decorate and clean the tables, etc... (the good china were my favourite, they did a realllllly good job -good love for indie pop. oh and scared weird little boys were hilarious!) i was pretty clueless and unaware that the greenroom was also the VIP room and within an hour, heaps of familiar faces aka the celebs and their high profile entourage came filling through the marqueee. it was very overwhelming, i was not expecting that at all! what was i doinggg there!! everyone was so tall and pretty, people were getting their photo taken, media covers, interviews, channel ten and the herald sun were present. the perks of the job didn't end there, i got to meet josh thomas (he's actually really shy in real-life but nonetheless A.D.O.R.A.B.L.E!), i met the theatre actors from west side story and others, three of the richmond footy boys, harry o'brien, the model for ms. world victoria 2010 victoria mietta (so pretty), antony - the mastermind behind the l'oreal fashion afterparty, and more more more but im so tired right now i can't recall names! massive lol-my-gosh at the hobo lady who was dancing like she was possessed right next to the stage and continued to piss security off by trying to climb onstage to touch the bands. matt's new girlfriend, right ;) haha!

nawww asdjhaskdj, i had the besssssssstest time today! definitely doing it again next year :) fo' sho! the weather was so nice, i met so many awesome people aaaaand my life is complete, josh thomas knows my name. huzzah! haha jks jks! xx
